The award-winning Grand Designs Live hosted by Kevin McCloud is back, bigger, better and greener than ever as show organisers place a ban on all single-use plastic at the event. Since last year’s London show, the Grand Designs Live team will roll out their plastic free campaign in a bid to raise awareness about plastic pollution, encouraging visitors to make simple and sustainable lifestyle choices.

Alongside plastic cutlery, straws and bottles off-limits, the campaign also aims to provide environmentally conscious self-builders with advice on how to construct an eco-friendly project.

Learn how to embrace eco-ethos

Grand Designs Live will continue with their initiative to reduce the usage of single-use plastic at the show. Following suit from its Birmingham instalment by banning plastics bottles, straws and cutlery; replacing them with biodegradable alternatives, aiming to turn the tide on plastic pollution.

Visitors will be encouraged to use refillable bottles and water points at the show’s cafes.

Handpicked by Kevin himself Kevin’s Green Heroes will make their debut to the show with live demonstrations of their products, giving you the chance to see the very best eco-innovations come to life.

You will also get the chance to see some returning heroes who will be doing demonstrations of their products with Air Ink, Rehyphen, TALA and more companies to be confirmed.

Creative Artist, Stella Corall, will showcase her sustainable art installation in the Central Bar at Grand Designs Live this May. Using an array of recycled bottle tops and straws, Stella will reuse waste which otherwise would have been tossed into landfill.
