Grand Designs Live returns this October
Visit the UK’s best self-build, renovation and home improvement show
Grand Designs Live 2021 takes place in Birmingham from 6-10 October 2021. Sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, the event will be debuting exciting new features over five days. ‘After the last 18 months of uncertainty, Grand Designs Live is a fantastic show to inspire those who have been itching to renovate and invigorate their homes, learn new skills and even build their own grand design,’ says host Kevin McCloud.
So much to see
Come along to browse more than 400 exhibitors, a host of inspiring features including The Great British Box Room Competition and Kevin’s Green Heroes. Plus, you can take advantage of project advice at the Ask An Expert hub. It’s easy to find your way around as the show is divided into four main zones; Build, Kitchen & Bathroom, Interiors and Garden. Build is where you’ll find construction and glazing materials, services and techniques. The Kitchen & Bathroom and Interiors sections are home to a host of well-known brands, as well as independent suppliers, while Gardens is the place for gorgeous outdoor buildings, furniture and accessories. Why not make a day of it? There are plenty of places to stop and have a bite to eat.
New this year
One of the debut features for Grand Designs Live 2021 is The Great British Box Room Competition, sponsored by Crown Paints. Six interior designers have been creating beautiful schemes for small rooms, and transforming them into incredibly useful spaces. Their final designs will be on display at the show, providing a rich source of ideas and inspiration for any bijou box room.
Pick up tips
The Ask An Expert hub, which is sponsored by Airflow, is an essential stop for self-builders, renovators and home-improvers. Specialist advice is on hand from RIBA architects, financial, planning and eco experts, as well as interior designers and landscape gardeners. So, you can discuss your project with the relevant specialist in a free 30-minute consultation. Just bring along plans and an idea of your budget to get the most from your session.
